Trenchless Underground Installation

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is our core specialty and the foundation of Impiana Mahir's operations. HDD is a trenchless method of installing underground pipes and cables with minimal surface disruption, making it ideal for crossing roads, rivers, railways, and environmentally sensitive areas.

We operate dedicated HDD teams across Malaysia, executing projects for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), private developers, data centre operators, and industrial clients. Our work spans utility-grade HDPE conduits to high-voltage 275kV cable ducting for critical infrastructure.

Equipment & Capabilities

Purpose-built fleet for reliable HDD execution across all terrain types.

32-Ton HDD Machines

5 units of Goodeng GD320C-LS for large-diameter and long-distance drilling operations. Capable of handling heavy-duty utility crossings.

18-Ton HDD Machines

3 units of Goodeng GD180C-LS for medium-scale projects. Ideal for residential developments and shorter crossing distances.

Digital Locator Systems

8 units of precision digital locators for real-time drill head tracking. Ensures accurate bore path alignment and avoids underground utilities.

Butt Fusion Machines

For joining HDPE pipes to create continuous conduit runs. Essential for ensuring watertight, structural integrity of underground pipelines.

5 Dedicated Field Teams

Each team includes experienced site supervisors, machine operators, and support crew. Capable of running multiple HDD projects simultaneously.

Support Fleet

Mud mixing systems, backhoe excavators for entry/exit pits, water tankers, and 14 transport vehicles for equipment mobilization.

Applications

HDD is deployed wherever open-cut trenching is impractical, restricted, or too disruptive.

Road & Highway Crossings

Install underground utilities beneath active roads without lane closures or traffic disruption. Commonly used for TNB cable ducting under federal and state roads.

River & Waterway Crossings

Drill beneath rivers and drainage channels to route power cables and telecommunications infrastructure without disturbing waterways or requiring temporary diversions.

Railway Crossings

Install conduits beneath active rail lines with zero impact on train operations. Requires precision alignment and coordination with railway authorities.

Environmentally Sensitive Areas

Trenchless installation in protected zones, forest reserves, and areas where surface disruption is restricted by environmental regulations.
